Member News: Shell to Build Europe’s Largest Green Hydrogen Plant

Major news for Frontier Energy Network Member, Shell, as the energy giant announces that it will proceed with building Europe’s largest plant producing hydrogen from renewable power, as part of its strategy to cut carbon emissions.
 
Set to be 10 times the size of Europe’s largest existing green hydrogen facility in Europe, Holland Hydrogen I will include 200 megawatts of electrolyzers, powered by a wind farm off the coast of the Netherlands and will produce up to 60,000 kilograms of renewable hydrogen per day which will supply the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park in Rotterdam.
 
This is major milestone within Shell's strategy to help build a global hydrogen economy.
